Choose Your Flavor Of Upscaling

We’ve added the three major types of upscaling tech this week! You’ll now be able to select between Nvidia’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR 2.0 as well as Intel’s XeSS. At time of writing, they all default to their balanced quality presets but by the time you see this, they should have sliders to change that if you wish.

Save and Load

But most importantly, thanks to the Easy Multi Save plugin, progress is able to be stored and loaded! Unreal has a built in way for handling config settings (graphics, audio, etc) but it’s on the dev to handle things like unlocking weapons, characters, etc. That is also being worked on, with some specific attention on the audio system.

Currently, purchased abilities, perks, characters, revival items, credits and skill points are saved. In time, weapons, upgrades, and levels will be stored as well.

Enemy AI

Another important improvement this week is the introduction of AI to the enemies that were previously idle. For right now, they hold either a rifle or a pistol. Beware of them scoring critical hits on you as well! To combat this, the enemies drop various items that either recover health or ammo. In addition, their damage output is low to account for how many may attack you at the same time.

After the common enemies are accounted for, we move on to bosses! Current plan is to have them spawn at a random point after reaching a milestone and have them hunt down the player. They will have unique abilities like the player to set them apart from the crowd.
